JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Manager, you will have excellent organisational skills, sound judgement, the ability to prioritise tasks, and strong personal character to help meet client requirements.  This role will be focussed on a key client relationship of Alter Domus (Guernsey) Limited (“ADG”). The post holder will report to the Head of Client Compliance in Guernsey.
For this key relationship, AML/KYC/KYA is undertaken by a centralised team of specialists.  Your role will be focussed as the lead liaison on Guernsey matters between the client and the team, supervising their engagement with the client and overseeing the collection and periodic reviews of investors AML/KYC.
Ideally this role will be suitable for an individual with strong AML CFT skills and an Investment Funds background, that is equally familiar with the GFSC’s Handbook.  A Compliance qualification would be useful, although not necessary for the right candidate, as would experience of managing a team.

  • Ensuring that client, investor and investment due diligence is collected to the appropriate standard in order to comply with the GFSC’s AML/CFT Handbook.
  • Evaluate and determine the necessity of additional CDD information, based on risk assessments and client profiles.
  • Lead and mentor the centralised CDD team, fostering a culture of critical thinking and sound judgement in compliance matters.
  • Demonstrate the ability to navigate complex compliance scenarios and provide practical solutions that meet regulatory standards.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communications and understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Undertaking oversight assessment reviews for outsourced work.
  • Act as the key contact for the client in any escalation matters, monitoring of KPIs and SLMs ensuring they are met.
  • Assisting in maintaining internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local standards and regulatory requirements as the business develops. 

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Have a passion for your role and for building successful client and Board relationships through teamwork and high standards of service.
  • Have 5 to 10 years’ experience in compliance with a focus on AML/KYC, ideally with 1 to 2 years at Manager level.
  • Proven ability to make informed decisions regarding CDD requirements, balancing compliance with practical business considerations.
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification or be working towards one.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance concepts to diverse audiences.
