The Transformation Senior Officer is an analytical, delivery-focused role embedded within the Strategy & Transformation Team in Client Delivery. Working under the direction of a Transformation Program Lead, this individual takes ownership of discrete workstreams within a broader transformation program — conducting rigorous business analysis, diagnosing operational challenges, and driving workstream deliverables through to completion.

This is a role for a self-starter with strong intellectual curiosity and a bias for action. The Transformation Senior Officer does not wait to be told where the answer lies — they go and find it. Working at the intersection of business strategy, process redesign, and technology enablement, they partner with global process owners, operations teams, lines of business, and technology partners to translate complex operational realities into structured insights and actions that drive meaningful change.

Your Responsibilities

Analysis & Organisational Design

  • Conduct structured current-state analysis of organisational structures, operating models, roles, and accountabilities across relevant business units
  • Support the design of target operating models that align with strategic objectives, optimise spans and layers, and enable scalable growth
  • Design and document complex, tech-enabled processes, analyses, and assessments against a backdrop of a rapidly evolving transformation landscape
  • Analyse interdependencies between people, process, technology, and governance elements of the operating model
  • Contribute to the definition of future-state roles, accountabilities, and organisational blueprints
  • Develop well-reasoned hypotheses and test them through qualitative and quantitative analysis, synthesising findings into clear outputs — including process maps, analytical models, business cases, and written reports

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering

  • Work closely and collaboratively with global process owners, operations teams, lines of business, technology partners, and the PMO to gather information, validate findings, and build buy-in for recommended changes
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders across functions to gather requirements, surface pain points, and capture aspirations
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories for technology and process workstreams
  • Support change impact assessments and stakeholder mapping to inform change management strategies
  • Communicate clearly and credibly with stakeholders at all levels, adapting style and content appropriately for the audience
  • Support the preparation of program updates, executive briefings, and steering committee materials

Technology-Enabled Transformation

  • Partner with Global Process Owners, Tech, Product, and Operations teams to understand technology solutions and their implications for the operating model
  • Actively leverage AI and agentic AI as part of the value creation chain, fostering a culture of AI adoption in line with Alter Domus's AI governance framework
  • Define functional requirements and business logic for tech-enabled tools, workflows, and automation opportunities
  • Support the evaluation and selection of technology platforms and vendors where required
  • Ensure alignment between business processes and system capabilities, identifying gaps and proposing pragmatic solutions

Workstream Delivery

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned workstreams within a transformation program, managing tasks, milestones, and deliverables to plan
  • Maintain clear workstream documentation including process maps, issue logs, decision records, and status trackers
  • Develop business cases, options papers, and decision packs for senior leadership and steering committees where required
  • Monitor progress against milestones, identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and propose pragmatic mitigations
  • Participate in testing, user acceptance, and validation activities to ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Demonstrate a strong personal sense of ownership and accountability, maintaining pace and momentum across all assigned work

Change Management & BAU Handover

  • Support the design and delivery of change activities, including communications, training materials, and readiness assessments
  • Help identify change resistance and contribute to strategies that build engagement and adoption across impacted teams
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks, and knowledge assets to enable smooth transition to new ways of working
  • Partner with BAU teams to ensure they are adequately informed, trained, and prepared for transition
  • Contribute to structured handover documentation and knowledge transfer activities at program close

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in management consulting (at a top-tier or strong regional firm), transformation, business analysis, or a comparable analytical role
  • Exceptional structured problem-solving skills — able to break down complex, ambiguous challenges, form and test hypotheses, and drive to clear, well-reasoned conclusions
  • Strong analytical capability, including proficiency in data analysis and the ability to build compelling, evidence-based narratives from complex information
  • Demonstrated experience working on technology-enabled change programmes, including requirements gathering, process design, and user acceptance testing
  • Proficiency in business analysis techniques including process mapping, gap analysis, data analysis, and business case development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to produce crisp, well-structured outputs and present findings confidently to senior audiences
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and presentation capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment
  • A genuine self-starter mindset — proactive, intellectually curious, and comfortable taking initiative without being directed
  • High levels of personal drive, ownership, and accountability

Desirable

  • Domain knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Fund Administration (e.g., NAV production, investor reporting, transfer agency, custody operations, or related middle/back-office processes)
    • Financial Services Technology (e.g., platforms, infrastructure, system implementations, or digital transformation)
    • AI Enablement (e.g., GenAI adoption, process automation, AI-assisted workflows, or data-driven transformation)
  • Sound understanding of how regulated financial services entities operate, with exposure to fund administration, private equity, alternative investments, or wealth management
  • Exposure to regulatory change programmes or compliance-driven transformation
  • Experience with service design, customer journey mapping, or lean/six sigma methodologies
  • Prior exposure to a Transformation Office, PMO, or equivalent centre of excellence
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, Kotter) and/or project management frameworks (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, PMP)
  • Experience with collaboration and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Fenergo)
  • Familiarity with technology concepts such as workflow automation, system integration, APIs, and cloud-based platforms
  • Knowledge of data governance, reporting, and business intelligence tools advantageous
  • Business analysis certification (e.g., BCS, IIBA/CBAP) or Agile/Scrum certification (CSM, CSPO) a plus
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a leading institution, ideally in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a field with role-relevant transferable skills
